Governor Uzodinma Speaks Out
Governor Hope Uzodinma recently made a big claim in Lagos. He said that Imo State now provides constant power to its people. Many people on social media doubted this news. However, the APC Youth Leader in Imo, Franklin-Kennedy Ibeh, says the Governor told the truth. He confirmed that many residents now enjoy 24-hour electricity in Owerri.
The Orashi Electricity Scheme
This steady power comes from the new Orashi Electricity Scheme. The state government owns and manages this project. It generates and distributes light to the state capital and industrial areas. Ibeh spoke to journalists on Thursday to clear the air. He said the project is currently in its pilot phase but already showing great results.
Goodbye to Generators
In Nigeria, we are used to the sound of “I pass my neighbor” generators. But Ibeh says things are changing in Imo. Small businesses like barbershops and cold rooms are now saving money on fuel. Constant light helps these businesses produce more and grow faster. Most residents in the covered areas no longer depend on expensive alternative power.
Stop Playing Politics
Some people in the opposition say the Governor is lying. Ibeh told these critics to stop playing politics with development. He invited anyone who is doubting to come and see for themselves. He noted that the achievement is verifiable. According to him, the “Shared Prosperity” administration is committed to making life easier for every Imo resident.
A Brighter Future for Imo
Ibeh urged all citizens to support these growth programs. He believes that steady power will bring more investors to the state. When businesses have constant light, the economy of the state will become stronger. For now, the Orashi scheme continues to prove that 24-hour electricity in Owerri is possible.
