Notorious bandit leader Bello Turji has sparked outrage after a new video emerged showing him celebrating an attack that reportedly claimed the lives of soldiers in Sokoto State.
The Bello Turji video surfaced days after terrorists allegedly attacked troops responding to a distress call in Isa Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on a military vehicle conveying soldiers to Bargaja community, resulting in casualties.

In the video circulating online, Turji claimed that his group recorded a major victory against security forces operating in parts of Sokoto and Zamfara states.
The bandit leader expressed gratitude to Allah and said his group had succeeded in confronting those carrying out operations against them.
Furthermore, Turji claimed that his fighters recovered livestock allegedly seized during military operations.
His remarks have generated reactions from Nigerians, especially as security agencies continue efforts to tackle banditry and terrorism in the North-West region.

Reports indicated that armed bandits attacked Bargaja community in Isa Local Government Area during the early hours of Saturday, June 20, 2026.
